First Week of Octoberrrrrrrr

I’ve been adding some things to my Etsy shop, including these paper wrapped spiral pendants. They were kind of a hit in my shop before, so I’ve made a bunch more. I also do custom pieces, so if there is a specific color scheme you would like, let me know and I will create it for you, no extra charge.

I also have all the new reproduction pieces ready to add to my shop. I’ve already added the one above, but keep an eye out for more through the rest of the week.

I have just a few more quick links I’d like to share of things I’ve gathered from the internet lately.

I have been waiting for this pattern from my friends Kelly and Jenny. Together they designed the most comfy sweater ever. And with the temp.s dropping lately we all could use a little coziness. Check it out!

I’ve been listening to artist Haley Bonar. I think she came up on my pandora and I was drawn to the adorable picture on her album so I just had to find out more about her and her music. I read her genre was Alt Country (which I love) but I would say she sounds an awful lot like Tegan and Sarah, so if you like them, you might dig her music.

Speaking of Tegan and Sara, Sheasy blipped this video a week or so ago and I’ve been listening to it tons.

I found this flickr group pool devoted to etsy packaging! Gotta love great packaging. I know I’ve kept some beautiful envelopes that I’ve received over the years. How about you?

A couple of weeks ago my altered art shoes were featured in an article on AOL about creative uses for chalkboard paint, on ShelterPop. Check out the article here, I was so excited about the last feature which had an entire car covered in chalkboard paint. I want that car!

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).

  1. Yay on the Shelterpop shout-out! I’d love to have a chalkboard paint covered car. I have a Scion xB and I think I may try this on the back panel. Will post pics if I get brave enough!

  2. Look at you Ms. Thing, getting featured on AOL! That’s great! That is, if anyone still actually USES AOL. ;) I love those pendants, by the way. They make me happy. Somehow I think you an I are similar in that there are magazines stacked everywhere around the house.

  3. Plenty of people us AOL! And they aren’t all related to you either! LOL. I wish she had more pics of the detailed stitches. I may have to spring for that pattern. :)
