Centering

Centering, originally uploaded by BLW Photography.

Tonight was my first community ed. ceramics class. The teacher, Michelle, said one thing that I want to remember and share here. She said there are three parts to ceramics, the wheel, your body, and the clay. She likened the clay to a rock. It seems like a rock is so hard you could never manipulate it, but if you use the wheel and your body properly the rock will always be the one that gives. You are happening to the clay, not the other way around. I think it is something that can apply to many parts of your life. If you remember that you are the one in control of your obstacles and you use that confidence, everything else will bend to make way.

I forgot to take pictures before the class wrapped up, so I am using the above picture by http://www.flickr.com/photos/macbeck/ through creative commons on flickr.

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
