Thankful

First snow
I did a search in my flickr archives for thanks and this image 2006 camera phone image came up and it felt fitting.

Despite that it was a Monday and despite that I got called into work for a couple of hours at midnight, I was actually in a pleasant mood this morning. I’m happy about this holiday week, excited for an appointment I have on Wednesday, and then it even started snowing! Everything was great until right before lunch when found out that there are going to be some changes at work. I am not great with change and this is pretty big. I have a lot of thinking to do. I kind of just want to cry and run away but I know I need to put this in perspective. Matt’s family has had some major blows last week, losing 2 uncles, and 1 aunt that was in a bad car accident. What I need to do is not dwell on “woe is me” and instead focus on the positive. I need to recognize all the gifts that I have and be thankful. Thursday is Thanksgiving and so I’d like to share some of the things I am thankful for this year.

-Sparkly deck lights on a timer every evening
-Matt being like a furnace or my own personal heating blanket during the cold evenings
-Owning my very own treadmill
-Warm kitties cheering me up when I am sad
-Etsy for allowing me to have a venue for my creative work
-My whole family that lives nearby
-Snow days
-The USPS allowing me to send and deliver a letter or package anywhere in the world
-Even though I’m a hypochondriac and always worried that I have something that is going to kill me, I’ve actually lived my whole life in excellent health
-I’m grateful for the internet, and the connections and dear friendships I have made because of it
-I’m thankful for Jimmy John’s and their tasty-tasty bread
-Matt loving me and supporting me no matter what
-Our awesome home and my own studio in it

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).

  1. Your job sounds so intriguing to me – that you would get called to work at midnight is so interesting, though – heh – I bet it’s not fun to get up like that.

I hope whatever big changes won’t be too painful. I know you’ve been there a long time. Sending good wishes for good changes.
