Giveaway Winners and more

WOW! 150 comments, that is definitely a record on this blog. Let’s count the Sew, Mama, Sew ‘May Giveaway Day’ a success. And the winners are…

Congratulations Lisa (hootie364) and Sue (suebee12) :) I will be emailing you shortly to get your addresses.

Believe it or not, I replied to each and every comment and had such a great time visiting every blog and link you provided. I even found some really great “new to me” blogs that are equally inspired by “random acts of kindness” and Guerrilla Art.

Last week was pretty insane. Beyond replying to 150 comments, I had so much busy-work. It started with a few sales. When I reached into my bubblewrap mailer I only had 1 left. I thought of this tutorial I saw online for making your own bubble mailers. AHA! I had bubble wrap, of course I have TONS of paper, I’ll just make my own mailers. They turned out wonderfully, you can see them above. So much more interesting than regular mailers, I don’t think I’ll buy mailers ever again :)

Then after the mailers were done, I needed to pack them. I reached into the box with my prepared purchase packs (plastic bags filled with all the things that I send with every sale) and guess what, I only had one left :S So, I had to make everything that goes in each pack, which meant designing, printing, cutting, punching, pressing, gluing and pushing until my fingers were literally numb.

A cool new website I discovered through one of the giveaway comments was a blog called Kind Over Matter.  Their website says “Our blog is dedicated to Kind Acts, Inspirational Art & Kind Projects.” I immediately thought they would love Rosa’s Found Art Tuesday project and emailed them about it. Today I got a kind email notifying me that they featured Found Art Tuesday and Rosa and my artwork.

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
