-Bought 10 McDonald’s Sweet teas, and two regulars to bring to BBQ.
-Headed to my brother and sister-in-laws house for said BBQ.
-Had a brat.
-Played with their puppy.
-Hung on the hammock.
-Played my first game of bags, which I sucked at.
-Watched some America’s Next Top Model with Dacia’s sister alyssa and surfed the internet and loaded some pics to flickr.
-Drove to the city’s fireworks display, video snippet above.
-Thought I was video taping the grande finale, until it was over, hit stop and only then it started recording :(
-Drove out to the _______ farm (name removed to protect the not so innocent), where we had a bonfire and fireworks (shhhh, all fireworks are illegal here).
-Had a hotdog and toasted marshmallows.
-My brother recited the “Give me liberty, or give me death” speech from Patrick Henry.
-Our own grand finale.
-Everyone in attendance went through a whole box (plus some) of morning glories in the matter of 5 minutes or less. We were burning the whole bundles at a time.

So how was your holiday?

That sounds like the perfect holiday. How do you feel about the McD’s sweet tea? I’m sure you have gathered by now that I am a big beverage person. I went to McD’s THE DAY AFTER I saw the commercial for the sweet tea. I was quite excited. I have to say mine was…. weird. It had a brown powder in it. Fresh brewed with POWDER? I really want to give it a second chance. I love sweet tea, my mom makes it perfect and it reminds me of my grandma. Also, my mom doesn’t charge me a buck.

Eek… we went to a friends daytime party, which was great… but then we met up with a second group of friend’s at Naperville’s “Rib Fest”…(not a great place for non-meat eaters- but a snuck in a tomato and cheese sandwich- despite the bags being searched in line for such contraband). We saw REO Speedwagon- yes, you read that correctly…and during the fireworks after the first song, “The Star Spangled Banner”, the DJ’s played “Start Me Up” by the Rolling Stones- does anyone else see the irony in that?
