Polaroid Week final entry

april 25 roid week, originally uploaded by robayre.

If you haven’t noticed, I’m big on projects. I’m all Found Art Tuesdaying, Create-A-Daying, Thing-a-Daying, Artomating, Makers-ing, Geocaching, Polaroid Weeking, Postcrossing, Swap-Boting, and I’m sure there are a bunch out there that I am forgetting.
Now Loobylu is starting an “Archive Friday”. I thought today I might hit two birds with one stone and find an old polaroid picture I took to finish up Polaroid Week 2008.
This picture is of a four poster bed that is in my parents house. It came from dad’s side of the family and when I was growing up it resided in my grandparents’ home. This was the bed that we grandchildren slept on whenever we stayed at their house. My grandmother told us how it is so old that it came to this part of the country by covered wagon. It doesn’t fit standard mattresses and had to have one made custom to fit it. One time when my friend elaina was sleeping over I told her about how old this bed she had just slept on was. She thanked me for waiting until the morning after to let her know. I asked why and she said “Because, do you know how many people have probably died on this bed? It’s probably haunted.”
Funny, all the years that I slept on it, it had never occured to me that the bed could be haunted. I just that it was my grandma’s house that was haunted, lol. I’m just kidding of course, well kind of, but not really. Oh, I crack myself up.
Anyway, I’ve got so much stuff to share, but so little time to do it in. I’m off to my the Maker’s meeting, late as usual.

I’ll be back later to add appropriate links above. done

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).

  1. what a great story! It made me think of a bed in mt grandparent’s house that we all used while growing up. Now gone.
