string and scones

Happy Saturday everyone!

This week Matt bought a book recommended highly on Lifehacker. Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen. It’s not something I’d pick up myself or contemplate reading even, but I am benefiting from it’s lessons as Matt is now really motivated to “GTD”ing it. His enthusiasm has rubbed off onto me and since I know that I am happiest when most productive I’m feeling great. Actually when he got the book originally I had a sneaking suspicion about his motives, thinking he got it FOR ME, or rather to motivate me, he denied it, but it is working out that way regardless.

Here is a small bit of handspun yarn for a project I am working on, to be revealed later. This is before and after I dyed it a beautiful purple (I never thought I could say that, I really don’t like purple).

 scones 12.1.07

This morning I made scones with this recipe I found on designsponge. They tasted great. I didn’t end up having milk, so I had to substitute milk with powdered milk and water and I didn’t brush the egg white on top either. Next time I think I’ll make sure to add more flour because although they were delicious, they were more airy and light compared to most scones I’ve had before.

Now, I think I will head out and “GTD” it up. It’s snowing out now, which is wonderful, but it is supposed to turn to freezing ice sometime today.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hi, I'm Robyn and I was Hatched from a Kinder Surprise Egg. Graphic Designer by day, Maker of things by night. I have worked as a graphic artist professionally since I was 16 years old. Went on to get my Bachelors of Art from NIU. I like to share my Artwork online at flickr.com/photos/robayre and on my own personal website http://www.robayre.com. I also have an online shop http://www.robayre.etsy.com where you can find more of my "crafty" sorts of things, as well as a random piece of artwork here and there. Oh, and I'm also an occasional contributor to Artomat (artomat.org).
